Our Story

Our focus is on artisanal producers locally and from around the world.

GEORGE Restaurant opened in 2003 with a simple intention: to offer a dining experience rooted in seasonality, creativity, and thoughtful hospitality. Led by Executive Chef Lorenzo Loseto, GEORGE has become a defining presence in Toronto’s fine dining scene, earning recognition in the MICHELIN Guide for four consecutive years (2022–2025).

Located in a restored 1850s chocolate factory on Queen Street East in downtown Toronto, GEORGE pairs historic character with contemporary art, creating a distinctive setting for intimate dinners, corporate events, weddings, and cocktail receptions.

Guests may choose from an à la carte tasting menu or Chef Loseto’s Chef’s Choice tasting experience, thoughtfully tailored to individual preferences. Guided by our trained sommeliers, each course can be paired with wines selected to complement the cuisine.

With its central location, warm service, and refined yet vibrant atmosphere, GEORGE offers a dining experience that feels both personal and enduring.

Executive Chef Lorenzo Loseto

Award-winning Executive Chef, Lorenzo Loseto, has been inspiring taste buds at GEORGE for two decades and is recognized as one of Canada's culinary greats. His creative approach is based on a Seasonally Smart Ethos that highlights local, seasonal ingredients as much as possible. Under Chef Loseto's direction, GEORGE is known for creating globally inspired dishes.

Chef Loseto's specialty is his signature Chef's Choice tasting experiences, offered in five, seven, or ten courses. This unique experience is "double-blind," meaning each course is customized according to each guest's preferences, and offers up to 20 different original dishes, maximizing the number of potential tasting options, and providing an experience unlike any other in Toronto.
