Atmosphere
George is nestled in the heart of a 1850s chocolate factory. Its décor offers a sophisticated blend of old-world charm and contemporary edge. Modern chandeliers, antique French doors, and intricate wrought iron window treatments combine to create this effect. During summer, Toronto’s best-kept secret — the secluded patio in George’s courtyard —allows guests to enjoy intimate, al fresco dining.
Food
Led by Executive Chef Lorenzo Loseto, George’s menus are devoted to creating original dishes with the freshest seasonal ingredients obtained locally whenever possible.
His modern approach to cooking, combined with his classical training, allow him to create a delightful and inspiring food experience, that builds on Canadian fare and Toronto’s broad émigré traditions.
“I get inspired by the environment around me and I use the best seasonal ingredients available. My food is a direct reflection of my personality. It’s the way I prefer to the communicate.”
Very Verity
George Restaurant’s premises are part of the Verity Group which houses, in addition to the restaurant, a private women’s club, Verity, a European boutique Hotel, The Ivy at Verity, and a women’s only spa, Sweetgrass Spa at Verity. The spa, hotel and George are open to the public. All these operations share the Verity’s 55,000 square foot premises which includes two outdoor courtyards. Verity is as multi-dimensional as the Members who fill its space. In equal measure it is dynamic and motivating, soothing and tranquil, celebratory and inspiring. That’s what makes this Toronto club an oasis in the heart of the city. By understanding women and the detail-oriented lives they lead, Verity is able to fulfill its Members’ vision of what a contemporary club needs to be. The fluid space easily accommodates both the professional and personal demands of life. Well-appointed meeting rooms, comfortable lounges, a fully equipped gym and pool top the list of amenities. Also housed within its 55,000 square feet is the award-winning Sweetgrass Spa, acclaimed fine dining restaurant, George, and the European style boutique hotel, The Ivy at Verity. Verity’s 800-plus Members have access to many facilities — all under one roof. This allows for more life multi-tasking. Imagine a day plan that includes a morning workout, hosting a meeting in one of the beautiful board rooms, a one on one chat with a potential client in the Member lounge, an express manicure in the spa before fitting in an important lunch. This is all possible in one morning at Verity. Learn more at www.verity.ca
