Seasonal ingredients
Executive Chef Lorenzo Loseto is one of Canada’s premier chefs. Loseto’s innovative “Toronto Cuisine” is devoted to making everything from scratch with the freshest seasonal ingredients obtained locally when possible.
His modern approach to cooking, combined with his classic training, has allowed him to create a delightful and inspiring food experience building on Canadian products and Toronto’s broad émigré traditions.
Loseto places an emphasis on seasonal, natural and sustainable food. He has created an a la carte tasting menu where guests are encouraged to order many courses to fully explore the bold flavours and textures of his cooking.
George is setting a new standard for Toronto’s top restaurants. As Chef Loseto puts it “My food is a direct reflection of my personality. It’s the way I prefer to communicate. I get inspired by the environment around me and I use the best seasonal ingredients available. If something is out of season, I like to wait for it to return and focus on what is coming into season”.

Glass in hand
Our two restaurant managers together with our waiters have formed a committee to hand pick wines. We call it the Wine Commune at George and it has already received favourable reviews by the critics. Offering a wide selection of wines from around the world, George focuses on an eclectic mix of wines that complement Chef Lorenzo's dishes. Wines available by the glass vary with the menu, allowing us to pair wines with every dish and with every occasion.
Our cocktail list also changes with the season, with no compromise - using only the best ingredients.
A party for the eyes
George is housed in an old 1850’s chocolate factory that has been impeccably transformed. Savour the dramatic juxtaposition of extraordinary modern chandeliers with rich wood floors, a polished bar, antique French doors, and George’s hallmark of intricate wrought iron window treatments and screens.
For magical summer evenings, George flows out into an enchanting, secluded inner courtyard. Al fresco romantic dining at its most beautiful!
The George Gardens
This year George is producing its own vegetables from three Toronto locations including the balcony in the George Courtyard.
This is an experiment in urban organic gardening. Some of the vegetables are already being harvested now. They are served in George on the day they are picked.
Quantities this year are small but we intend to expand production based on what we are learning.
Very Verity
George’s kitchen also serves the much acclaimed women’s club, Verity. www.verity.ca Verity offers virtually everything a woman could want, from gorgeous lounges , meeting rooms, computer rooms and yoga and pilates rooms to a fitness centre, swimming pool, spa, library and an enticing programme of stimulating intellectual events.
George Restaurant is located at 111c Queen St. East in the Queen Richmond Centre just east of Church.
George Restaurant and the Georgian Rooms can also be booked for private functions on Saturday during the daytime, Sundays and Monday evenings.
